Magh Gupt Navaratri begins today: 2nd – 10th February 2022. The next nine days are very auspicious for undertaking sadhana on Devi Maa and upholding the wisdom of Shakti.
The journey to the Goddess is akin to the journey to one’s mother – it is poignant melancholic and deep. All sadhana (discipline/practice) to the Mother is about that deep connection within the Self that opens the pathways of wonder and enlightenment.
When worshipping the Mother Goddess, come with an open heart and offer everything you have to offer Her from your heart space, for only She knows, that there is nothing greater than your love for Her offered back to Her. All other material tangibles are only incidentals to the ultimate offerings – your love!
Goddess Matangi, Minister of the Great TripuraSundari is the presiding Goddess of this Navarathri, taking main stage in the hierarchy of the rituals. One who approaches the King through his minister, quickly gains what they desire from the King.
Similarly, one who approaches the Supreme Empress Mahatripurasundari after availing the Grace of Matangi undoubtedly attains the Grace of Rajarajeshwari Lalita Paraamba.
śyāmāṅgīṃ śaśiśekharāṃ trinayanāṃ vedaiḥ karairbibhratīṃ
pāśaṃ kheṭamathāṅkuśaṃ dṛḍhamasiṃ nāśāya bhaktadviṣām .
ratnālaṅkaraṇaprabhojvalatanuṃ bhāsvatkirīṭāṃ śubhāṃ
mātaṅgīṃ manasā smarāmi sadayāṃ sarvārthasiddhipradām
I meditate upon Goddess Matangi who fulfills all the desires of her worshiper,
Who has lustrous blue limbs, (śyāmāṅgīṃ)
is adorned with the crescent moon on the crown,
Who has Surya, Chandra and Agni as her three eyes,
Who is the essence of the Vedas,
Who holds the Pasha and Ankusha(noose and goad),
Who destroys the enemies of her worshiper,
Who is adorned with various gems and ornaments all over her body,
Who wears a magnificent crown which spreads intense luster, and
Who symbolizes all auspiciousness.
OFFER
Vilva leaves, red flowers, red hibiscus, pomegranate and vermillion powder for Kum Kum Puja and for Pushpanjali (offering of flowers) puja for daily ritual.
CHANT
Devi Mahatmyam or Durga Path as daily sadhana.
LIGHT
9 ghee lamps every day and place at altar or NE direction of the home.
