Life is a phenomenon that offers us paradigms that compel us to step out of our comfort zones, not because it wants to punish us but more because it wants us to reinvent our sense of purpose and to gain deep perspectives from the lessons therein.
Unless we are pushed off the edge of our ‘que sera sera,’ sense of being, we will never discover the potential that is latent to us and until that happens, we almost inevitably take things for granted.
Although we are aware that life is momentary and death is the only sure thing about life, we are still gripped in the pits of our beings, when we loose a loved one – it feels to us as if, it came to us as a huge surprise! Although there are a myriad of things attached to the loss of a loved one, (a topic for another day), life continues to offer us the curricullum in which we discover what makes us and what breaks us.
Dis-eases are another facet that teaches us our power to overcome. Almost often, we live in denial of all that is happening around us – this is the state of lack of awareness or better yet, the state of ignorance – the sheer resonance of the mantra, ‘ignorance is bliss,’ is what makes us believe that we are invinsible yet fragile; robust yet vulnerable.
Pain and dis-eases are one of the most potent teachers known to man.
On the psychosomatic level, they display different spectrums of agony, discomfort and unrest while on a psychological level, they display our will, our want and our need to overcome what overpowers us. Most often, we give in because we allow ourselves to be engulfed in self-pity, our lack of mental stamina and the sheer belief that we have been defeated long before we were given a chance to fight.
Our will, our want and our need to overcome the challenges we face stems from one crucial question – whom are we living for?
Whenever we make life about others is when we will continue to face the betrayals, the challenges and the dis-eases UNTIL we decide to live for ourselves; UNTIL we realise that we have been merely existing for others but not lived one day of our lives for ourselves – the lesson is repeated until the lesson is learnt!
Of course by this I don’t mean for you to walk away from your responsibilities to the people who depend on you but rather, have you consciously made yourself paramount to the grand scheme of things or have you put yourself last in the list of duties of the day? Remember that YOU ARE PARAMOUNT to yourself and to everyone who depends on you – it is only when you are first on the list can the rest of the people on the list exist.
So, wake up and dare to live, dis-eased or not for we have and will continue to always overcome the truck-load of lemons that life throws at us. A whole era of lemonade later, we always survive only when we give ourselves the PERMISSION TO LIVE like it’s the last thing we do.
It is only when you discover your need to live for you, will you unveil your purpose of existence. Reclaim your power and don’t allow the pain and the dis-eases in your life overpower you; conquer it and create your best life yet.
May you be more…
