We are only a few days away from 2019 and already, we are counting the days for new beginnings – with hope in our hearts to doing things differently in the coming year, intending to do less of worrying and more of living. Yet, we never aspire to live in the now.
Our New Year’s resolutions have always been about losing weight, getting that dream job, about being kinder, practicing more self-care and listening more to the children, that it is so apparent that we are more bothered about aspects that are so tangible and material in our lives, rather than, what is most sacred to our Beings!
The more tangible the list is, the further we are from the alignment of our manifestations as we get too involved in everything that we see, do and become in our everyday lives. We inevitably detach ourselves from our paths when we get involved with the drama of the moment that seems to take over our lives, over and above our intent to awaken ourselves.
We spend so much time, money and effort going from one motivational class to the other, to get motivated to bring change into our lives only to be demotivated by some people whom we give so much power to. These same people dictate the quality of our existence and even go so far as to decide, our worth. After all the work we put into ourselves, we end up right where we started; and we look back in dismay and ask ourselves, why does this continue to happen to us?
The answer is obvious – we gave all our power away to others to dictate our lives that when we try to reclaim it, we run out of that last ounce of power to reclaim our worth. The lotus flower is considered to be one of ‘The,’ most beautiful flowers in the world and is also a symbol of purity, resilience and magnificence in the spiritual world, because, immaterial of the surroundings it dwells in, its emerges robust, glorious and majestic.
It simply lives in alignment of its purpose of existence, no matter how muddy the waters may be and immaterial of how harsh the circumstances appear to be – in the stillness of its strained environment, it pledges to exist without any compromise.
If we could live like the lotus flower, the next time we are in a squabble with someone demanding so much of our energy and time, we just need to remind ourselves that we are here to live in our highest expression as our authentic Selves, without compromising who we are, immaterial of how bizarre others think us to be. We have come here to planet Earth, to find the definition in our purpose of existence – at least, let us begin by being in alignment with that purpose!
Be aligned to what you want, the rest will follow!
